Innovation for sustainable transition
The graphs for research at UiS have pointed upwards in recent years. Compared to other universities, we are the third best at publishing per scientific employee. Many of the externally funded research activities take place in collaboration with the research institute NORCE Norwegian Research Center. There are also several centres for research that have been established between UiS and NORCE and other stakeholders.
The innovation company Validé is our unit for capturing research ideas that can be developed and employed in society and business. Validé conducts technology transfer, commercialization and incubator operations, and is located in Innovation Park Stavanger. Incubator is a start-up aid for newly established businesses. UiS is a member of the European network for innovative universities - European Consortium of Innovative Universities (ECIU).
Our strategy
Our common direction must be guided by the responsibility for sustainable transition and fair social development, through new ways of managing natural resources and by facilitating better cities and local communities.
