In the introductory part, basic concepts from physical chemistry are introduced. Following parts lay the foundation for further study of the advanced subjects in battery technology.
Learning outcome
Upon course completion, you:
- will understand concepts in physical chemistry as the foundation for electrochemistry
- can identify, define, and classify electrochemical reactions and the components involved - electrolyte, electrodes, and interfaces,
- have a fundamental understanding of definitions, thermodynamics and kinetics of electrochemical reactions,
- know the structure and properties of electrode-electrolyte interfaces,
- have knowledge of electroanalytical methods, their use, and how to perform them,
- have knowledge of applications of electrochemistry in areas such as synthesis, materials, and energy.

Course assessment
There must be an early dialogue between the course supervisor, the student union representative and the students. The purpose is feedback from the students for changes and adjustments in the course for the current semester. In addition, a digital subject evaluation must be carried out at least every three years. Its purpose is to gather the students experiences with the course.
