Content

The course will give the candidate a professional specalisation within a chosen topic within Chemistry at PhD level. This could be, for example, specialising in an instrument, or within a relevant subject area. The curriculum is set to match the research area of the PhD project together with the candidates supervisors and course leader.

Learning outcome

After completed the course, the student shall have sufficiently detailed knowledge of the topic to be at the research front within this field of chemistry and will be able to perform thorough research and development within the specific topic.

Recommended prerequisites

According to admission requirements for PhD in Chemistry and Biosciences. Final year master students may also be accepted to the course on the conditions of the appointed supervisors approval.

Method of work

8 hours of project work per week. There are no ordinary lectures in this course; each student will receive independent supervision from the selected supervisor.

Course assessment

There must be an early dialogue between the course supervisor, the student union representative and the students. The purpose is feedback from the students for changes and adjustments in the course for the current semester.In addition, a digital subject evaluation must be carried out at least every three years. Its purpose is to gather the students experiences with the course.
