Applications to studies with entrance exam:

As the primary admission, all applicants for performing music studies must go through 2 rounds of entrance exams. Round 1 is carried out by submitting a self-produced video recording.

If you pass round 1, you will be invited to round 2. Round 2 consists of an audition and an interview, as well as a theory and aural skill test for bachelor applicants. A 20-30 minute audition with an interview is set aside for each applicant, and you must be prepared to have to perform the entire audition programme.

The commission that evaluates your entrance exam in round 2 is the same that evaluates your video for round 1. Within the entrance exam, an interview will also take place in which a representative from the study administration participates. During the interview, you will have the opportunity to explain your goals and motivation for the study, and at the same time you will have the opportunity to ask questions to both the teacher and the study administration. Applicants for master's and PDM will also discuss their submitted plans for a future master's/PDM project with the commission.

Round 2 is carried out in Stavanger at Campus Bjergsted June 12 and June 13.

12. June:

Entrance exam round 2: ORGAN in St. Petri from 12.00pm - 02.00pm.

13. June:

Entrance exam round 2: VIOLIN in Hetlandsalen from 03.00pm - 04.00pm.

You will receive an answer to the video assessment (round 1) and an invitation to round 2 by separate email at the beginning of June. The goal is to publish the final results at the end of June. The answers are published in SøknadsWeb, in addition to e-mail.

There are different repertoire requirements for each study:

Theory and Aural skill test for applicants for Bachelor in Music Performance

In order to be admitted to the Bachelor in Music Performance programme - jazz, classical, church music or conducting, applicants who have passed round 1 must also complete a theory and aural skill test. Several of the applicants have already completed this test earlier this winter. If you have not already passed the test, it must be taken on our campus on the same day as the entrance exam in round 2.

The test will take place on June 13 from 12:00 - 01:30 p.m. More information about the test will be sent to applicants who have passed round 1 and who are invited to round 2.

The test is also arranged for applicants who, after the primary admission, have been offered a study place with reservation that a new theory and aural skill test must be passed by 1 July. Current applicants will be contacted by the faculty's admissions office.
