We are excited to welcome you to the first Resilient Health Care Meeting to be held in Stavanger, Norway in June 2024. The meeting will be held at Sola Beach Hotel June 10th - 12th. The meeting will be a single-track event based on the principle of ‘long discussions interrupted by short presentations.’
Patient safety is an inherently complex field of research and practice. With the continuing challenges within patient safety work, knowledge and understanding of resilient healthcare are even more in demand than before. Theory, methods, knowledge, tools, and interventions beyond preventing errors and failures are therefore needed to ensure sound work practices and strengthening the system of healthcare. This meeting will build upon previous RHC workshops and continue the journey by both acknowledging the foundation for a Safety II approach and explore further development of theoretical and practical approaches to resilient healthcare.
The meeting workshop will discuss themes including, but not restricted to:
- Patient and stakeholder’s role and contribution to resilient healthcare
- System adaptive capacity through new knowledge and approaches
- Theory development in resilient healthcare
- Measuring resilient healthcare
- Crisis management in complex adaptive systems
- Systems resilient performance
- Dynamics of the learning system - translating theory into practice
- Psychological resilience in resilient healthcare
