Process and Production Engineering (ENP100)
This is an introductory course in processing and production of petroleum. The course comprises traditional topics from petroleum production with the focus on reservoir and well, including what is required from reservoir technology and PVT. Also included is processing- and control engineering with focus on platform- or land based facilities.

Learning outcome
Upon completion of this course the student should be able to:
- Analyse flow conditions in petroleum reservoirs, production wells and platform based production facilities by means of established methods for estimation, and explain the basis of these methods, and their limitations.
- Estimate production rates and pressure conditions based on limited data to the accuracy the afore mentioned estimation methods allow, and also identify the demand for artificial lift.
- Calculate properties and phase compositions for hydrocarbon mixtures by means of simplified methods.
- Describe the principles for simple process control systems.
- Explain the main principles of chosen methods for well stimulation, lift and well maintenance during production.
- Perform laboratory measurements of different fluid properties, and measure porosity and permeability of porous media. Report from completed exercises in line with supplied training in report writing.
