As a general requirement, all applicants must meet the English language requirement. For studies taught in Norwegian, applicants must meet both Norwegian and English language requirements.

Studies taught in Norwegian
The Norwegian and English language requirements can be met in different ways:
- The requirements can be met, if you have finished school in Norway with the requirements for Higher Education Entrance Qualification (generell studiekompetanse).
- With upper secondary education from one of the Nordic countries, you may meet the Norwegian and English language requirements.
- Check the website of Samordna opptak for information about how to meet the Norwegian and English language requirements.

Studies taught in English
There is no requirement for Norwegian language proficiency for studies taught in English. The English language can be met in different ways:
- The requirement can be met if you finished school in Norway with the requirements for Higher Education Entrance Qualification (generell studiekompetanse).
- With upper secondary education from one of the Nordic countries, you may meet the English language requirements.
