Dr. Paulo Rocha er jurist med doktorgrad i sosialfag, spesialisert i interkulturell kommunikasjon, gatebyråkrati og sosial sikkerhet. Han har publisert både kvantitative og kvalitative vitenskapelige artikler og bøker, og har bred erfaring med å lede og delta i eksternt finansierte forskningsprosjekter. Dr. Rocha er førsteamanuensis ved Universitetet i Stavanger og seniorforsker ved VID, hvor han leder et masterprogram i interkulturelt arbeid og forskergruppen MIGREL, som fokuserer på migrasjon, religion og interkulturelle relasjoner. Han er også editor-in-chief for interkulturell kommunikasjon ved Journal of Intercultural Communication og har hjulpet fagpersoner i noen av de største aktører i Norge (f.eks., Tolletaten, NAV og Barnevern) å styrke deres kommunikasjonsevner og interkulturelle kompetanse.
