An-Najah National University (ANNU) is a non-governmental public university in Nablus, Palestine, and with its 22 000 students and 3 000 professors it is the largest university in Palestine.

UiS has had a Memorandum of Understanding with ANNU since 2006, and an Erasmus+ ICM exchange agreement since 2015. The exchange agreement has allowed staff to be exchanged both ways and incoming bachelor students to UiS study drama and intercultural communication. Grants offered by the Erasmus+ ICM action is necessary to facilitate the exchanges.

In 2018 the UiS joined a municipal delegation to renew the commitment to our partnership and map possibilities for new areas of cooperation. This has resulted in a stronger network in all areas of teacher education, particularly in early childhood education, as well as in nursing and midwifery.

Nablus has been the twin town of Stavanger since 1996, and many other cultural exchanges and development cooperation projects have been undertaken since then. The Nablus Society of Stavanger, a grassroots NGO, handles the practical aspects of the cooperation activities, and is an important partner for the UiS in our Erasmus+ ICM exchange cooperation.
